It seems like I have abandoned the site but I haven't. Just been extremely busy with life on all fronts. Work, family and whatever else. It has been a crazy time for me and exhausting.

What have I been up to? I'm not going to get into my personal life but work has been insane. By the end of the year I will be responsible for managing over 800TB of data spread across 16 48TB fibre channel SANs. I'll also be managing an extensive virtual desktop environment. A few new servers are getting added to the mix as well. My plate is extremely full. On top of that my department is taking over a fairly extensive system for managing assets and work requests. That is going to be interesting to say the least.

But on a good note about work, I received my new PC yesterday. Actually three of them but one was mine. It is a sweet piece of computing beauty. Dual quad core Xeons. 6GB of RAM. 800+ GB of hard drive space. Dual nVidia GPUs. I was also able to install Windows 7 on it as well. The final version is very nice indeed. I still need to get all of my management apps loaded but that shouldn't take me too long. I also forgot to mention I have two 30 inch LCD monitors attached to it. It is frigging awesome. My office looks more like a control center than an office.

I also had my personal laptop die. It was my fault. I drink a lot of coffee and I carry my coffee cup in my backpack along with my laptop and I guess the lid wasn't secured and coffee did its wondrous magic and killed it. So I am upset about that but what can I do? Learn from my mistake and carry on.

In spite of all that has been going on, I do intend to get back to posting stuff more frequently. I've learned a lot of new and cool things and would love to get them written up as tutorials so you all can learn some new cool stuff as well.
