Not that they have had a very good season this year but last nights game was abysmal. With last nights loss they are officially out of the playoff race, not that their chances were good but they had a chance and they blew it.

Rex Grossman was injured early in the game so this brings Brian Griese back to the starting position. What does he do? He throws back to back interceptions to the same guy. One was a throw he shouldn't have made and the other looked like Hester and Griese were thinking of two different plays. Granted, Hester is not normally a receiver so he could have screwed up his assignment but still. The running game was non-existent as it has been all year. The worst thing the Bears did in the off season was get rid of Jones. Cedric Benson has sucked major ass and Peterson isn't much better. However, they brought out their rookie running back and he looks pretty good. I think they should give him more carries in the last two games of the season.

The defense was awful again. The only thing they did right was shut down the run. But passing defense was no where to be seen. The defense has been hurt by injuries of very key players but is that really an excuse? Especially coming from a team who has always been dominating on the defensive side of the ball. Urlacher is playing hurt, Harris is playing hurt, several lineman are hurt. It is just a mess.

It will be interesting to see what the Bears do in the off season this year. They need a good running back. The QB position needs to be evaluated heavily. They could also use some top notch receivers. You can't keep throwing to Berrian all the time. Hester could be a dominating receiver in a year or two. He is very dangerous when the ball is in his hands.

This is one Bears fan who is very disappointed after watching them dominate the NFL last year. Maybe next year.
