As I went about rebuilding my PC and setting up my server I have created enough content to write three more tutorials. They are intertwined with each other. You can't do one without the other. So that is kind of cool. Plus it gives me something to do.
Ubuntu was installed last night. Overall it went rather smooth. I have to learn how to install things like Flash Player but I don't think the learning curve is all that steep. I found out something scary though. I was logged into Ubuntu and I was navigating through my NTFS directories like it was cool, this is a good thing for things like data recovery in case Windows goes tits up. After that I browsed the Network, something similar to Network Neighborhood. It saw my Windows network and my Active Directory Domain. I double clicked my Domain Controller and a login box popped up. I entered in my credentials for Windows and I had access to everything. Very scary indeed. I could cause much hate and discontent if I wanted to if this was an environment that wasn't my own.
I still need to play with Ubuntu some. I need to get used to installing applications and navigating around the file system. So far my experience has been good but I only played with it for about two hours. But I plan on using Ubuntu exclusively while I'm at home.
