10 Final Setting and Testing

10.1 Alternate Address Setting on MetaFrame Server

The following assumes the MetaFrame Web Interface and application servers will be accessible from the Internet with a Firewall device performing network address translation (NAT). Please obtain external address from the local personnel ordering the internet circuit. One external address will be needed for each sever in the farm including the web server. There are two ports used in this scenario Port 80 for the web server and port 1494 for MetaFrame ICA connections.

One each server, enter the following commands to set the external address “Altaddr /set “ IP Address”. The following is an example for a scenario where was have two Citrix application servers, and we have been assigned the following addresses, 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2

• Server 1: Altaddr /set 192.168.1.1
• Server 2: Altaddr /set 192.168.1.2

10.2 Testing

The Citrix Farm setup is complete and is ready for testing. In order to test, dial-up the Internet using a laptop and ISP and browse to the external address of the Web Interface. Login to the Web Interface using a valid account, a list of published applications should appear. Launch one of the applications to very a successful install.
