1. Introduction

This step-by-step guide provides instructions on how to create a Ghost image of servers and workstations. The guide describes how to install Norton Ghost 2003 and how to create a boot floppy and boot Compact Disk (CD) for ghosting machines.

2. Installation Pre-requisites

Before installing Norton Ghost 2003, the following things must be accomplished:

1. At least two workstations or servers set-up with a Windows Operating System (OS) and configured as needed. One to be the image repository and one to be imaged.
2. A properly configured network is needed for transferring the image to the image repository computer‘s shared folder.
3. A floppy drive is needed to create the boot floppy disk.
4. A CD-RW drive is needed to create a boot CD.

3. Software Required

Prior to beginning the ghosting process, it is recommended to obtain the software needed for the job. The following software is needed:

1. Norton Ghost 2003
2. Downloaded Network Interface Card (NIC) drivers
3. 3.5 Master
4. Virtual Floppy Drive (optional)
5. Roxio Easy CD Creator
