I'm fairly positive in saying that everyone who owns a television has seen these commercials offering these awesome products for the low price of $19.95. I know I have. I laugh every time I see them. How gullible do marketers think we are? I don't know anyone who has bought any one of these products.
How stupid do they think we are? They sell things like the Kinoki Foot Pads which offer the ability to cleanse your body of toxins while you sleep. These magical pads supposedly suck the nasty toxins from your body through your feet. Wow! This only costs $19.95 and if I order within the next 10 minutes I get a second set for FREE! Whatever. How gullible do they think we are? The scary part is people buy them.
Another one of my favorites is Mighty Putty. This stuff is basically an epoxy that does not require any kind of mixing. You just cut off a piece and mash it together to activate the ingredients. Then you can stop water leaks, fill cracks, repair dishes, sand it and paint it, and it holds up to 350 pounds. Incredible! All for only $19.95. This stuff actually does have me intrigued. Anyone who has ever mixed epoxy knows what a pain in the ass it can be. So if this stuff can actually do what it claims it might be worth it. 20 bucks isn't that much money and of course if I buy within the next 10 minutes I get a second order free. Plus anything sold by Billy Mays must be awesome.
Speaking of Billy Mays, this man sells just about everything there is for $19.95. This guy is energetic and seems to believe the bullshit he is selling. We all know him for OxiClean, Orange Clean, Hercules Hook wall hangers, and the list goes on. I'm sure he makes a very nice salary selling this junk but I wonder how he sleeps at night. Probably quite well but he shouldn't.
Recently I have seen infomercials on razors that never dull for $19.95. I shave everyday and go through razors like mad and at $10 a pop it gets quite expensive. My reasoning is, if this razor never dulls then why does it only cost $19.95? Wouldn't something like that be worth its weight in gold? I would pay a pretty good price for something like that. I know a lot of other people who would too. Something like this would put other razor companies out of business. So the very low price tag makes me wonder and of course if you call now you get two for the price of one.
The sad part of this is my kids believe every single one of these commercials. They are always wanting us to buy these products. They don't see the oddity of everything costing $19.95. They seem to think whatever they see on TV must be real.
Has anyone bought one of these products? Did it work as advertised?
