HEROES happen {here}

I attended the HEROES Happen {here} event in Washington DC yesterday. It was the global launch of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. This was my first event like this I have attended. It was awesome. I am definitely going to go to more of these. They are so cool.

Wouldn't it have been nice

West Virginia participates in the PowerBall. Last Saturday's drawing was for 275 million so of course I played, why not? So I woke up Sunday morning with the little one, fetched him his milk and turned on his cartoons. I then got my lottery tickets and logged onto the PowerBall website. A little marquee across the top of the site stated someone from West Virginia won the jackpot. Oh did my heart start to race.

How far would you go?

My favorite television show is Breaking Bad. Season one wrapped up last night and if you haven't seen it I strongly urge you to. It is a very provocative show and touches on a subject I find interesting. This post will have some spoilers about the show but that is not my intent here.

Breaking away from Convention

By now we have all heard about Radiohead offering their latest album In Rainbows basically for free. Of course you can pay whatever you wish for the album but you can also download it for free. This was viewed as a novel idea and people hoped it would change the way artists delivered their music and give one to the man. I'm not a Radiohead fan, I think I like only one of their songs but I liked what they are trying to do. This is why I was happy to hear Nine Inch Nails (NIN) is doing the same thing.
