My life on the internet has not always been on the up and up. I can't count how many DMCA complaints Comcast has sent me over the years for my dubious internet activity. I have since slowed down on doing things that are deemed illegal. So hearing about this website is one of the best things I have seen in a while.

Spammers are nasty beings that must be stopped at all levels. Most websites employ a means of stopping spammers and this one is no different. One way people like me stop spammers from posting garbage in comment sections is to use what is called a CAPTCHA. Most regular internet users have come across these. Basically they will show you a scrambled image and you have to type in what is in the image. When I first setup this version of GrinchyNet I installed many different types of CAPTCHA's and I set it to randomly use one of them. Apparently this was causing issues.

I feel the need to discuss this. One reason is because the subject makes people cringe. It also is a subject that has the potential of sparking a lively debate. So where does the Grinch stand on religion?

On Monday as I was walking to Union Station I passed the Canon building. Sitting on the steps was a man with a big sign that declared he was on a hunger strike to stop the bombing of Iran. This is the second hunger strike this man has done that I know of. As I passed him I started wondering about how many hungry people there are in the United States. According to a quick Google search, in 2006 there were roughly 744,000 homeless people in the United States. It would be safe to assume that a large number of the homeless people are hungry.
